Dars-e-Nizami Program

Introduction

Dars-e-Nizami is a comprehensive Islamic curriculum widely taught in Islamic institutions (Madaris and Darul Ulooms). It was developed in the 18th century in the Indian subcontinent (present-day Pakistan and India) and has since spread to various parts of the world including South Africa, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean.

The curriculum was formulated by the renowned Islamic scholar Mulla Nizamuddin Sihalivi (1161 AH / 1748 CE) of the famous scholarly family of Firangi Mahal. The program is named after him in recognition of his scholarly contribution.

The primary objective of Dars-e-Nizami is to systematically organize the study of Islamic sciences—from foundational learning to advanced intellectual scholarship. It provides in-depth expertise in classical disciplines such as:

  • Qur’an and Tafsir
